Antioxidant - Natural Preservative

Helps stabilize fats and oils against rancidity
Use 1 3/4 tsp. for each 5 lbs. of butter or oil
Use in addition to mold inhibitor which prevents mold from moisture in treats and cakes

Ingredients: Sweet almond oil, natural flavors.

Q: How long with this preserve the shelf life of dog treats? For example, I made a line of treats, they sell on the shelf at Walmart, in a box that does NOT have a bag inside it. Just like the treats you find on the shelf in any store? I'm looking to preserve long term. Thanks.

A: It is impossible to say how long a treat will last on the shelf without actually testing it n its real environment. Every recipe is different and every environment is different. The best way to make sure a treat lasts a long time is to be sure it is 100% dry all of the way through. A little bit of moisture will cause mold. The mold inhibitor helps to inhibit mold but it will not make an item last forever.

Q: I'm considering using this product in my retail treats. I currently only use about .25 cups of oil per batch of treats and have calculated that to be .02 tsp of antioxidant. Since this is difficult to measure, what is the harm in using just a drop, and this potentially being too much?

A: Thank you for your question. This product is all natural and non-toxic. There should be no harm in adding a little extra to a recipe.

A: The manufacturer states that this product is designed to stabilize fats and oils against rancidity in dairy products, confectionery, salad dressings, baked goods and others.

Q: Hi. Just wondering about what the mold inhibitor is made of. I am developing a line of all natural/healthy/vegan dog treats, and I am looking at packaging solutions to prolong shelf life, as well as possibly adding natural/healthy/vegan products. Please send me any info you may have?
